Community Playlist 026

There is something absolutely addictive about the small, cosy, tucked in little cafe in Bandra called Gostana. Apart from the homely vibe that it imparts, one of the main reasons you’ll find people visit often is Zizou. He is definitely the reason why the place became my work station. As soon as you enter, you are embraced by the warmth of this handsome gold retriever who I might add is a total attention seeker. Although, he truly deserves every bit of it. My frequent visits led me to befriend one of the partners of the café and Zizou’s mommy, Arpana Gvalani. We often shared the same table spending our entire day on our laptops and sharing our mutual love for music. Arpana has worked with a bunch of interesting musicians as she was the former curator/programmer for  the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and always has fun stories to share about her experiences in the music world. A fellow Buddhism practitioner and an extension of my Soka family, Arpana has played the role of a great host, colleague and friend without even knowing it at all. So when she agreed to curate this week’s community playlist, I knew it was going to be unique and special in it’s own right with the track selections having her personal touch.

“Those who know me will probably expect a lot of U2 or alternative rock on my playlist. Can keep that for Gostana / personal sessions for now. But made this playlist to share some other groovy music I really enjoy, plus the current favorites from Coke Studio and Pepsi Battle of the Bands which I follow.” – Arpana Gvalani
